Some details that make this property sustainable

We built this cottage with sustainability in mind.

We used only real wood for mouldings and plywood boxes for our cherry cabinets.  The floors are white oak except for the bathroom and laundry closet which are Marmoleum (a linoleum made from linseed oil). We used oil based paint on the mouldings, and oil finish on the floors which we think is the better more sustainable option because those finishes last longer.  The mini split heat pump and tankless hot water heater also fill this bill.  Our choices were about long term thinking, not short term cheap and that's what makes this a sustainable project for us.
